Super Bowl 26′

SUMMARY :
Jesus used stories and parables to teach spiritual truth. Similarly, we can use media like commercials to help us remember God’s truth, too. Together, we can be encouraged that God has a message for all of us.

The Super Bowl is here and that means one thing:
It’s time for 30-Second Theology!
We’ll watch commercials in church, and Pastor Craig will use them to illustrate truths from the Bible about God and the life He wants for us.

KEY SCRIPTURE :
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Colossians 3:23-24 NIV

HIGHLIGHTS :
Identify the lies.
Replace them with truth.
God calls you to obsess about what matters to Him.

Life’s most meaningful moments happen when you show up.

I am a child of God.
My sins are forgiven.
I’ve been made new.

God has chosen me.
God has called me.

I’m loved.
I’m sent.
I’m secure.

I’m not who others say I am.
I am who God says I am.

I am somebody.

This Love Breaks The Rules

SUMMARY :
A church that pleases God is filled of people who love like Jesus. Jesus loved the broken, cared for the hurting, forgave the sinful, and included the outcast. Love doesn’t just point people to Jesus; it carries them to Him.
Love isn’t just a feeling. It’s picking up the weight when someone can’t carry it themselves. This week, we’re exploring what it looks like to love people like Jesus, and how it changes everything.

KEY SCRIPTURE :
“A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:1-5 NIV

HIGHLIGHTS :
•A loving church carries burdens.
•Love doesn’t just point people to Jesus;
it carries them to Him.
•Love breaks the rules to serve and save people.

Choosing Unity In A Divided World

SUMMARY :
A church that pleases God is a unified church. While being a unified community is not an easy thing to do, we can work toward this goal by leaning into God and loving His message, His mission, and His people.

We believe the local church is the hope of the world. We can do infinitely more together than apart, because when the Church stands united, the world sees Jesus clearly. This week, we’re talking about how to be unified-and why it matters more than ever.

KEY SCRIPTURE :
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35 NIV

HIGHLIGHTS :
•A church that pleases God is a unified church.
-One enemy.
-One mission.
-One strategy

What You’re Missing By Staying Quiet/strong>

SUMMARY :
A church that pleases God doesn’t ask God to make life easier; we ask God to make us bolder. It was bold faith that led the early church to radical obedience and miraculous events—and we can have that same boldness today as we grow our relationship with Jesus.
We’re all bold about something-our favorite team, our coffee order, our opinions. This week, we’re talking about what happens when ordinary people get bold about their faith in Jesus.

KEY SCRIPTURE :
“The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. …
Acts 4:13 NLT

HIGHLIGHTS :
•Are you bold about your faith in Jesus?

-Acts 1: God promises to send the Holy Spirit in power, unleashing an unshakable boldness to spread the gospel of Jesus.
-Acts 2: The Holy Spirit unites believers into a Church boldly devoted to God’s Word, God’s people, and God’s mission.
-Acts 4: Under threats, the Church prays for boldness; God fills them with power and releases radical generosity.
-Acts 5: Believers choose obedience over safety; the disciples preach Christ boldly in the face of suffering and persecution.
-Acts 17: Paul boldly preaches Jesus in hostile cultures, reasoning publicly without compromising the gospel.
-Acts 28: Even in chains, Paul proclaims the gospel with boldness and without hindrance.

•Boldness isn’t what the Church does when it feels strong; it’s what the Church does when it knows Jesus.
•On a scale of 1-10, how bold are you about your faith?
•Boldness isn’t a personality trait; it’s the overflow of a real relationship with Jesus.
•A church that pleases God doesn’t ask God to make life easier; we ask God to make us bolder.
•Boldness triggers spiritual opposition.
•Is your faith strong enough to believe in Jesus, but too timid to be bold for Him?

A church that pleases God is filled with faith. This week, learn how the strength of your faith is a reflection of your view of God. Together, let’s have a steadfast, growing, and bold faith.
